wheeewww it's been a LONG time!

I know what you're thinking.....it's been a VERY long time since I've posted anything, and if you actually read this blog I'm sorry!

There has been a lot going on lately in the Lockaby household. The main attraction these days is my boy Crew. Crew was born on August 13, 2010...yes that was Friday the 13, and yes it actually did bring us a little bad luck! After Crew was born he had to stay at McLeod Hospital in Florence bc his little lungs hadn't produced any surfactant (stuff needed to keep lungs open). It was quite a scare in our lives, but God had control the entire time even though we were emotional wrecks! The verse that got me through this time was Exodus 14:14......READ it, it's GOOD!

To this day you would'nt have ever known Crew had trouble with anything at birth. He is growing like a weed on steroids! We were comparing the sizes of he and our daughter the other night, and at 9 months Gray weighed 16 pounds.....now, at not even 3 months Crew weighs 14 pounds!.....I'm thinkin D1 already:)

God has been SO good to me and my family, and especially our church family ( rockc3.com ). In one day, which we labeled "Prove It" day we gave like crazy and raised over $100,000 dollars!!! This was an AMAZING act of God, and not to mention that our goal was $75K....I love it when God decides to show off a little bit!

This offering was only part 1 of our Vision2.0 for our church. I'm hoping and praying hard that we will meet and exceed all the parts to come, so we can start building God's church for The Rock. If you're not currently giving, and you're a member of The Rock, just come to set up with me at 5:30 one Sunday....then you will start giving more often:)

I stopped at thought the other day about how long I've actually been doing this setup thing for church, and I realized that for pretty much five years now I've been getting up at 5:30 EVERY Sunday to setup church FOR FREE......some people would complain about that, and whine that they need a break (cry me a river!)....I say thank you God for allowing me to do your work for your church!

This sparks my hostility towards whining volunteers.....Let me just go ahead and get this off my chest......If you're a volunteer at The Rock, or anywhere else for the matter DON'T EVER COMPLAIN! If you do, keep in mind you signed up for the job....and you probably signed up bc you felt led by God to do so.....now think about this.....if you were led by God to volunteer and now you're complaining bc you need a break....guess who you're complaining to???.......it BLOWS my mind how people complain about not getting a break from volunteering......if you didn't read it already read back in this post.....I've been doing it for 5 YEARS with NO break, do you hear me complaining?.....so you have a full time job and you're tired by the end of the week....REALLY? Try being a elementary teacher all week then getting up at 5:30 on Sunday....which is probably about an hour before you even get there.......We are NOT just volunteers, we are the feet and hands of Christ, doing His work for His church.......when someone starts beating you with a cat of nine tails while you're setting up, then you can complain....but then again Jesus never did....

I think I'll end there:)

Have a good one people!
